My Core belief is that no dog is inherently bad. There, I said it. Just like humans get frustrated, emotional, and act out, dogs can do just the same. We always have reasons behind our stress, what are theirs?
I am here to give you a level of understanding about your dog that will help you build an even closer relationship. Dogs have an extremely vast array of similar expressions that can mean different things based on ears, tail, and head position, and how they use these expressions can change from dog to dog. It can be confusing for both you and your dog if you don’t understand what they are trying to say, and I’m here to help you understand what your pooch is trying to tell you!
My methods are stress free for your dog. I believe in the Power of Play; after all, “a tired dog is a good dog” didn’t come from nowhere! Bringing your dog to parks, on walks, on car rides, and into social areas can trigger reactions that help me understand what your dog may be feeling at home and on the go. I also offer in home services, where I’ll be observing your dog’s behavior around the house, during play, and around any stimuli you may want me to introduce to understand reaction. I do prefer for owners not to be home for interactions, as I get a more genuine experience and reaction from the dog when parents are present. However, if you’d like to stay and watch, or have specific needs for your dog’s understanding that involve you being home, of course you’re welcome to be there.
I will be clear, my methods don't work for everyone or every dog. One key will does not fit all locks, and some dogs do require more than an understanding of why they do what they do or basic training advice. Anyone proficient in dog psychology understands that there are a variety of genetic contributions to behavior, and expecting all dogs to respond to positive enforcement therapy is unrealistic. For dogs determined to need more than what I can offer in my services, I collaborate with some fantastic trainers with backgrounds in dogs of all temperaments I will be happy to refer you to. Regardless of whether or not I am the right fit to solve that issue you've been worried about, I can guarantee your dog will have an experience that is worth the investment.
Of course, my services are not limited to emotional/cognitive evaluations, and if you feel no need to have one for your dog then it’s not required in my service. I’m here for the dog and their experience, and regardless of the type of dog you have I will make sure they have a ball of a time during their experience with the Power of Play!
The Power of Play is a backed study that delves into the real question of; "What does my dog want?" Every dog has a different personality and behavior quirks, but they all have one thing in common: Play. There's not a dog on this planet who doesn't want to have fun, and through the Power of Play and learning with me how to read your dog's body language, you can open a new chapter of understanding into your dog and their personality.
